This project’s design challenge was creating a logo for a business-to-consumer company. The company could either be made up or a company from the real
world. I opted to create my own company, a flower boutique store, because it was February around the time of the project, making me think of businesses that would thrive doing Valentine’s Day. The business’s name was Urban Arrangements. I began my process by sketching out various thumbprint logos; the one that stuck was a drawing of a flower with a background of overlapping boxes inspired by painter Piet Mondrian. The company’s name would be organized beneath the rose and boxes. I created the logo in Illustrator using a graphic I found on All-free-download.com. The fonts I used for the logo were Pricedown and Today Easter. Pricedown was used to give the word urban a heavier look, while Today Easter was used on the word arrangement giving it a more subtle look. Overall the final product ended up having a nuanced look.
